Instructions to Authors

General Guidelines for Submission of Manuscripts

  1. Submission Platform: The Manuscripts should be submitted online only through the Submission Portal. First-time users must register on the platform for submission.
  2. Author Information: The author’s full name, email address, contact phone numbers, designation, Department, Institution and address must be provided in the manuscript.
  3. Original: Manuscripts must not have been published or submitted in any other form.
  4. Submission Confirmation: All the authors shall confirm their willingness to be co-authors through an automatic email generated by the submission platform.
  5. Copyright Form and Conflict of Interest: All authors must give their consent as “ I Agree” or “I Disagree” in the automatically generated email by the submission platform.

Submission of the manuscript and Initial Acknowledgment

On submission, the journal acknowledges the manuscripts. The author will be the contact for all communications regarding the manuscript.

Editorial and Peer-Review Process

The JOURNAL MANAGER CUM EDITOR verifies the manuscript to determine if is within the Scope of the Journal and the Quality.  The ASSOCIATE EDITOR plays a key role in peer-review publishing, the plagiarism check and basic copy editing.  Then the manuscript is sent to the REVIEWER with the Editor’s comments. If the manuscript is not within standards, the manuscript is rejected and sent back to the Author with valid reasons. 

If revision of the manuscript is required, the manuscript sent to author to revise and re-submit with the editor's and reviewer's comments. 

After the article is accepted, the COPY EDITOR checks for Grammar, Punctuations, Spelling, Format and Style of the manuscript.  The author gives his consent to publish the manuscript. The CHIEF EDITOR finally approves the manuscript for publishing.  The manuscript is processed for publication in the Journal website.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be submitted as separate documents, including Manuscript Components mentioned.

If the article is based on “Stem Cells”, the approval from “Stem Cell Registry” and if the article is a “Genetic based article”, approval from the “Genetic Registry” must be uploaded along with the submission of the manuscript.

Manuscript Sections

Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word (97-2013 or higher). The text must be double-spaced with 1-inch margins, justified to the left margin, and formatted in Arial 12-point font. All pages should be numbered.

Covering Letter

The covering letter should be addressed to the Chief Editor and explain why the manuscript should be published in the University Online Journal.

Approval of the Ethical Committee Approvals

All studies involving human participants must include :

  1. The name of the ethics committee that approved the study.
  2. The approval of the Institutional Ethical Committee (IEC) must be uploaded.

If ethical approval is not required, this should be stated in the manuscript.

Clinical Trials

  1. Authors must register in the “Clinical Trials Registry - India” and upload along with the submission of the manuscript.
  1. Registries must include a minimum 24-item trial registration dataset.
  2. The Secondary data analysis should refer the primary trial registration number.

Stem Cells

Authors must obtain approval from “Stem Cell Registry” and must upload with the manuscript.

Genetic based article

Authors must obtain approval from “Genetic Registry” and must upload with the manuscript.

Data Availability Statement

Authors must include a Data Availability Statement detailing where supporting data can be found:

  • Options include repository names, public domain resources, or availability upon request.
  • If data are not publicly available, this must be clearly stated.

Authorship

The journal adheres to International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations for authorship.

All authors must meet four criteria: substantial contributions to conception/design/data analysis; drafting/revising content; final approval; accountability for work integrity.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal throughout submission and publication.

Changes to Authorship

Requests for changes to authorship after submission are generally not entertained unless accompanied by a signed agreement from all authors involved.

Non-Author Contributorship/Acknowledgment

Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in a specified section.

Data Ownership and Permissions

Figures, data tables, and charts submitted must be owned by the authors. If not, permission from copyright holders must be obtained prior to submission. These editorial and publishing policies ensure that University Online Journal maintains high ethical standards while supporting authors in their contributions to medical literature.
