HEPATIC RUPTURE- UNUSUAL COMPLICATION OF PRE-ECLAMPSIA

Abstract


Subcapsular haematoma and hepatic rupture are very unusual catastrophic complication of preeclampsiaeclampsia and HELLP syndrome.20yrs old, Primi , 36 weeks gestation with pre eclampsia was admitted with complaints of lower abdominal pain. A diagnosis of abruption grade III was made .She developed intrapartum eclampsia and Emergency LSCS was done. Postoperatively, she developed HELLP syndrome and intra peritoneal  haemorrhage. She was taken up for Re laparotomy. A  diagnosis of hepatic rupture in right lobe was made. She  developed Acute renal failure on second post operative day. During hemodialysis, she developed hypotension .
