KARTAGENER S SYNDROME IN A FERTILE MALE AN EXPLICABLE PARADOX

RAMYA .

Abstract

Abstract : Kartageners syndrome is a variant of primary ciliary dyskinesia. It is an autosomal recessive disorder     characterized by the triad of situsinversus, Bronchiectasis and sinusitis. This rare ciliopathic disorder is due to defect in the action of cilia lining the respiratory tract (lower and upper sinuses, Eustachiantube, middle ear), fallopian tube and   flagella of sperm in males. We report a case of Kartageners syndrome in a 35 year old fertile male .The case is being reported for uncommon occurrence of this syndrome with male  fertility.
