Rare case report of primary pulmonary leiomyosarcoma
Abstract
Primary pulmonary leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare disease and only around 130
cases has been reported in literature worldwide so far. Here we present a case of Primary pulmonary
leiomyosarcoma seen in our hospital. A 15 year old female with complaints of pain in right upper limb
for four months associated with loss of weight. Her routine Blood counts were normal and her renal
and hepatic parameters were also normal. Her CT scanChest shows a massin the right upper lobe
with moderate contrast enhancement and closely related to neurovascular bundle.CT guided biopsy
of the mass on histopathology revealed leiomyosarcoma. Further thorough imaging failed to show
any other disease in the body. The final diagnosis was Primary Pulmonary leiomyosarcoma. The
patient is presently undergoing chemotherapy. This case is being presented for its rarity.
