A RARE PRESENTATION OF MALIGNANT STRUMA OVARII IN AN ASYMPTOMATIC POST MENOPAUSAL WOMAN

Abstract


A 65years multiparous postmenopausal woman presented as mass per vaginum, her USG showed 7cm            ovarian mass, so proceeded to right adnexal cystectomy with supracervical hysterectomy left side salphingo oopherectomy, omental biopsy. The ovarian mass proved to be a struma ovarii with numerous microscopic foci of papillary thyroid carcinoma. The patient had no symptoms of hyperthyroidism, and her thyroid function normal.
