Reconstruction of a post electrical burn compound defect of the neck with pharyngo-laryngeal cutaneous fistula. A rare case report

ARAVIND MAHARAJ PAKIRIMAHESWARAN

Abstract

Electrical burn injuries of the head and
neck are rare. The patient usually undergoes
a long course of recovery. When
complicated with the involvement of larynx
and pharynx, there are additional
problems of airway and nutrition maintenance.
This is a case report of a 37 year
old mason with an electrical burn of the
neck resulting in a pharynolaryngeal defect,
managed by a pectoralis major
myocutaneous flap and split skin graft
