A RARE CASE OF GELATINOUS DROP LIKE DYSTROPHY - A CORNEAL AMYLOIDOSIS

NAVEEN .

Abstract

Gelatinous drop like dystrophy is a rare anterior corneal stromal dystrophy with deposition of amyloid proteins in the anterior stroma. It is more common in the oriental  population. The main clinical features are defective vision, photophobia, lacrimation, mulberry like greyish lesions of the cornea requiring keratoplasty in 3rd to 4th decade.                    Histopathology shows characteristic yellow green                    birefringence in polarised microscopy with congo-red stain
