MALIGNANT PERIPHERAL NERVE SHEATH TUMOR OF CHEST WALL
Abstract
Abstract : 34 year old female was admitted with complaints
of lump in the rt. mammary region since 3 years. on
examination the mass was found to occupy mainly the upper
and inner quadrant which is fixed to the chest wall with the
skin and breast tissue can be moved freely over the swelling.
clinical diagnosis of tumor arising from the chest wall was
made. Incision biopsy revealed spindle cell neoplasm. hence
proceeded with excision with proceed mesh covering the
chest wall defect. HPE revealed low grade MPNST with tumor
free margins. Medical oncologists advised only regular follow
up as it is of low grade and she is under regular follow up. It is
presented because of its rarity and high degree of suspicion
needed for the diagnosis with complete excision giving cure.
Keyword :MPNST-rarity-high degree of suspicion for
diagnosis- definitive treatment -excision
