CHRONIC MYELOID LEUKEMIC RETINOPATHY

Abstract


Chronic myeloid leukemic (CML) of juvenile onset is a rare
lympoproliferative disorder of childhood. The frequency of
intraocular involvement with leukemia is 901. Leukemia
Retinopathy is rarely associated with chronic leukemias.
Leukemic infiltrates may be subretinal, choroidal, retinal, may
be in the optic nerve or vitreous . Nodular deposits seen in
retina is of prognostic significance, as it can lead to early
demise of the patient. We report a patient with CML who
presented to us for defective vision. On examination he was
found to have leukemic deposits in the retina of both eyes.
