A CASE SERIES OF ANCIENT SCHWANNOMA
Abstract
Ancient schwannoma is a rare variant of
schwannoma arising from nerve sheath.
These are benign tumors treated by complete
excision with preservation of involving
nerve. Malignant transformation is
very rare. Here we have discussed about
three rare presentation of ancient
schwannoma i.e in groin, retroperitoneal
and forearm. Of this groin tumor is the
first reported case in the world literature
of an ancient schwannoma. All patients
were treated by complete excision with
no major complications.
