Synchronic recurrence of double malignancy from a metachronous double primary of carcinoma gingivobuccal complex and soft tissue sarcoma. A rare case report.

Abstract


A case report of synchronous recurrent
double malignancy of carcinoma gingivobuccal
sulcus and pleomorphic liposarcoma.
A female aged 47 years, a
known case of carcinoma buccal mucosa
operated 3 years back and pleomorphic
liposarcoma right arm operated 7 years
back, now presented with ulcerative lesion
in upper gingivo buccal sulcus, biopsy
proved to be squamous cell carcinoma.
CT showing base skull infiltration
and was started on palliative chemotherapy.
During her 2nd chemotherapy cycle
she was diagnosed to have a recurrent
liposarcoma right shoulder, for which
wide excision was done followed by radiotherapy
and chemotherapy. Simultaneous
recurrence of both malignancies is
a rare entity
