A RARE CASE OF ACUTE INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTION DUE TO JEJUNAL POLYP CAUSING JEJUNO ILEAL INTUSSUSCEPTION
Abstract
Small bowel intussusceptions are much
less common than the ileocolic type,
withjejunoileal intussusceptions being
amongst the most rare. We review the
literature on small bowelintussuception, a
case of 16 years old boy with a jejunoileal
intussusception involving the part
of thesmall bowel, 30cm from the level of
the duodenojejunal flexure to 3 feet distal
to the ileocaecal valve.The typical CT
features of an intussusception and value
of CT with regard to identification ofcomplications
are highlighted
