Tailgut Duplication Cyst- A Case Report

Abstract


 

The tailgut cyst, being one of the rare congenital malformations which may present in the presacral space,   is   a remanant of the postnatal part of the hindgut. The rarity of the lesion and its anatomical position usually leads to   difficulty in diagnosis and surgical management. 65yr female with complaints of Right leg pain for 6 month was diagnosed with sciatica. On further evaluation, patient was found to have tailgut duplication cyst. Laparotomy and cyst excision was done. Histopathological report came as tailgut duplication cyst.
