Caesarean scar pregnancy: a rare case report
Abstract
Caesarean scar pregnancy is one of the rarest
forms of ectopic pregnancy. Little is known about its
incidence and natural history. With increasing incidence of
caesarean section worldwide, more and more cases are
diagnosed and reported. A delay in diagnosis and/or
treatment can lead to uterine rupture, major hemorrhage,
hysterectomy and serious maternal morbidity and also
mortality. A 27 year old woman with 7 week caesarean
scar pregnancy was treated by manual vacuum aspiration
after failure of systemic methotrexate treatment. Her post
evacuation USG showed empty uterine cavity and beta
HCG level returned to undetectable level.
