Pregnancy and H1N1 influenza a case report in a tertiary care hospital, must know information for obstetric care providers

Abstract


A case 30 year old G3P2L1, previous LSCS, known case of gestational diabetes mellitus on insulin injection and positive for H1N1 in throat swab was referred from another hospital to our hospital. She was managed in our tertiary care hospital with Tamiflu as advised by our physician. Pregnant women positive for H1N1 Influenza infection, especially those with co-morbid conditions with or without symptoms may be efficiently treated with Oseltamivir, careful observation, isolation and an elective section if  applicable to reduce the morbidity and mortality of mother and fetus significantly.
