RECONSTRUCTION OF VAGINAL AGENESIS BY MODIFIED SINGAPORE FLAP METHOD - A RARE CASE REPORT
Abstract
Vaginal agenesis is a relatively rare condition most commonly associated with Mayer- Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome. Historically, several reconstructive techniques have been described to provide for functional vaginal reconstruction on these patients, both operative and nonoperative. Although there are many advantages and disadvantages of the various procedures, Vaginal reconstruction using pudendal thigh flaps (Modified Singapore flap method) is one of the best methods of vaginoplasty. The technique is simple, the flap is sensate and reliable, and the donor site is hidden with little secondary deformity.
