A RARE CASE REPORT OF MISSED MISSED-ABORTION RESULTING IN INVASIVE MOLE
Abstract
Invasive mole is a condition which follows molar pregnancy such as complete or partial mole and invades the wall of the uterus. A 26 year old women with history of suction evacuation done for missed abortion followed by repeat suction evacuation within a period of one month. In these evacuations tissue was not sent for histo pathological examination (HPE) for confirmation of molar disorders. Due to persistent bleeding per vagina patient evaluated and diagnosed to have persistent trophoblastic disease and she was treated with Injection Methotrexate six cycles. On follow-up after completion of six weeks she was having persistent elevation of beta human chorionic gonadotropin(beta-HCG) and re-evaluated with ultrasound doppler, MRI pelvis and diagnosed as invasive mole and started on combination chemotherapy. Patient received six cycles of EMACO regimen (Etoposide, Methotrexate, Actinomycin-D, Cyclophosphamide, Oncovin ) and followed-up. Her beta-HCG levels returned to normal limits.
