Large Paratesticular Liposarcoma in a patient with Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection A 9case report and Review of literature.

JYOTHSNA M

Abstract

Para-testicular liposarcoma, is a rare entity.  Well-differentiated liposarcoma, is the most common, among other subtypes with better prognosis and a five year survival rate of 80. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection poses a 1.5 2.5 fold risk of developing anogenital  malignancies. We are hereby reporting an unusual case of para-testicular liposarcoma in a patient with HIV infection. Radical orchidectomy with wide excision of the tumour is the primary modality of treatment of                para-testicular tumours.  Radiotherapy is used as an adjuvant therapy for local disease control and to prevent recurrence. Chemotherapy and targeted therapeutic agents are yet to be studied for their efficacy in treatment of metastatic and unresectable  liposarcomas.
