A CASE OF RUPTURED INTERSTITIAL PREGNANCY
Abstract
Ectopic pregnancy in the interstitial part of the fallopian tube is a rare event, the incidence being 2 to 3 percent is associated with a high rate of complications due to delayed diagnosis. Rupture of such pregnancy often results in catastrophic haemorrhage. The haemorrhage may rapidly prove fatal because of the implantation site which is located between the uterine and ovarian vessels. Here we report a case of ruptured interstitial pregnancy with massive haemorrhage. Emergency laparotomy was proceeded. Early diagnosis is required for such cases to reduce the maternal mortality due to massive intraperitoneal haemorrhage.
