Abstract

To present the management of a malunited  intertrochanteric fracture with implant insitu using double angled blade plate. After preoperative planning implant was removed valgus osteotomy done and fixed with double angled blade plate. The coxa vara and shortening was corrected. Bony Union was achieved at osteotomy site. According to Askin Bryan criteria patient showed excellent clinical and radiological result. Even in cases with large bone defect as expected in proximal femur fracture treated with dynamic hip screw, valgus intertrochanteric osteotomy with double angle blade plate is a good option for salvage of hip.
