ROHINI A

Abstract

Kearns Sayre syndrome is a rare disorder with a prevalence of 1.17- 1.6 cases per 1,00,000 population of large mitochondrial deletions. According to literature, Kearns Sayre Plus syndrome (Ophthalmoplegia plus syndrome) is a multisystemic disorder with severe muscle mitochondrial  abnormalities. Prevalence of ophthalmoplegia plus syndrome is unknown. The objective is to know about the criteria and review the literature on this topic.
