KEINBOCKS DISEASE a rare case report

PONNAPPAN L

Abstract

Keinbocks Disease is the avascular necrosis of lunate bone leading to lunate collapse causing chronic pain and dysfunction of wrist. It usually mimics wrist sprain thereby detected only in late stage. Here we present a case of 36 year old male, diagnosed as Keinbocks Disease of right side with Licthman stage IIIa with an ulna minus variance. Patient  underwent joint levelling procedure in the form of radial  shortening osteotomy. There was good clinical and radiological outcome. Patient was completely pain free during 10 months follow up period.
