MULTICENTRIC TUMOURS IN A DEFEMINISED FEMALE.
Abstract
A 52yr old postmenopausal woman came with complaints of excessive hair growth in face and body since 3 years and vague abdominal discomfort , dyspepsia and abdominal distention since 6 months and history of loss of weight for 2 months. On examination she had signs of virilisation and mass abdomen. Serum androgens and CA 125 level were high. USG abdomen and pelvis and CT scan abdomen and pelvis showed ovarian mass and a left adrenal mass. Staging laparotomy was performed . Bilateral ovarian masses and left adrenal mass was present. Histopathology turned out to be bilateral ovarian endometrioid adenocarcinoma and adrenal cortical adenoma. Androgen levels normalized postoperatively. Breast atrophy reversed. But the hair in face and body continues to grow and the patient uses temporary methods of epilation.
