Paediatric Snapping Scapula Syndrome - A rare case report

Abstract


Snapping scapula syndrome is a rare condition characterised by snapping or grating sound during   movements of shoulder. This case report is about a 7 year old child presenting with the classical signs and symptoms of the condition. After clinical and radiological evaluation, diagnosis established to be Subscapular Osteochondroma and the child was taken up of surgery. Excision biopsy was done and the histopathology report confirmed the diagnosis. The child was followed up for a period of 1 year following which she was again evaluated clinically and radiologically for any recurrence and was found to be resolved completely. The case is  presented for the rarity of its occurrence and the surgical management method with good clinical results.
