A RARE CASE OF LUMBAR HERNIA

SRI SUDHA K KANNAPPAN

Abstract

Lumbar hernias are external hernias occurring through lumbar triangles. They are quite common compared to other abdominal hernia, accounting for 15 of all abdominal hernias . Clinical diagnosis is difficult due to non-specific  complaints. The diagnosis is particularly elusive in obese individuals or in those with past surgical history . Management of such patients constitutes a surgical challenge .
