A CASE OF PSEUDOANEURYSM MIMICKING A SOFT TISSUE SARCOMA

SANJU DANIEL DANIELOOMMEN

Abstract

We present the case of a 33 year old man  presenting with a pseuodoaneurysm of one of the perforator branches of the thigh. The lesion presented as a non pulsatile swelling with intact peripheral pulse and no bruit. The patient had cachexic symptoms which together with MRI findings suggested a soft tissue sarcoma. The report emphasises the importance of considering pseudoaneurysm as an important differential diagnosis in atypical swellings and screening all suspected soft tissue tumours with Doppler ultrasound.
