SHUBHA RAGURAM K RAGHURAM

Abstract

To report a case of a 3oyr old female patient who presented with difficulty in looking up with both eye and diplopia on doing so on recovering from anaesthesia in the post- operative ICU. Examination of the patient revealed both eye lid retraction, limited upward gaze, convergence retraction on up gaze and convergence insufficiency.    Diagnosis of parinauds syndrome was made. On weekly  follow up of the patient we noted the improvement with no more retracted lids ,improvement in upward gaze and no convergence retraction. At 6 months of follow up we performed the necessary steps to rule out any residual diplopia, and prescribed the glasses to correct her refractive error.
