Dual malignancy An intersting concurrent pancreatic ductal carcinoma with epithelial ovarian tumour
Abstract
Abstract : The incidence of multiple primary cancers is
rare.This case report describes patient with pancreatic
carcinoma with incidental ovarian borderline serous ovarian
tumour. We present here the case of a 65-year-old female who
developed synchronous double malignancy of the pancreas and
ovary.She was admitted with complaints of fever, jaundice and
malena.Abdominal ultrasonogram and CT revealed mass in
pancreas and incidental left ovarian cyst. The diagnosis of
pancreatic cancer and ovarian cyst was made. Whipples
procedure and left ovarian cystectomy was done. The histologic
sections from pancreas showed pancreatic ductal carcinoma
whereas from the ovary showed borderline serous ovarian
tumour.
