VARIATION OF THE LATERAL CORD OF BRACHIAL PLEXUS A CASE REPORT

ARUNA K

Abstract

Variations in the formation of brachial plexus and its branches are observed commonly in various literatures, but variation in the lateral cord is not much reported. This case  report shows a unilateral rare case of lateral cord piercing the coracobrachialis muscle, during the routine dissection for   undergraduate medical students, in the right axilla of an eighty four year old male cadaver. The clinical significance of   variations in the lateral cord and its embryological aspect are discussed.
