Abstract

We report a case of brain abscess caused by unu-sual organism, Streptococcus pluranimalium in a child with complex congenital cyanotic heart dis-ease who was successfully treated by surgical drainage and antimicrobial therapy. Streptococ-cus pluranimalium is a pathogen seen in chicken, birds and cattle and rarity of such infection in humans prompted us to report this case.
