INTERESTING CASE OF AIDP FOLLOWING SNAKE BITE

Abstract


We report a case of 29yr old female patient
who developed AIDP following
snake bite. She developed difficulty in
using both lower limbs immediately after
snake bite. She was treated with one
dose of ASV. Clinical examination revealed
she had hypotonia, areflexia and
weakness in both lower limbs with normal
power of both upper limbs. CSF
analysis showed albuminocytological dissociation.
Nerve conduction study
showed sensorimotor axonal polyneuropathy.
MRI spine was normal. Pt was
treated with 5 cycles of plasmapharesis.
She underwent physical rehabilitation
and improved over the course of time
