A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY TO ASSESS THE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE OF PERSONAL HYGIENE AMONG SCHOOL GOING ADOLESCENTS CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU - 2015
Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES - The maintenance of personal hygiene helps the adolescents to improve the quality of life and longevity. This study was under taken to find the knowledge and practice of personal hygiene among school going adolescents in Chennai and to find the morbidity due to poor personal hygiene practice among them. METHODS - It was a crosssectional study conducted among 445 corporation school children of age group 10yrs to 19yrs with the help of semi-structured questionnaire containing questions on basic socio demographic profile, personal hygiene knowledge, practice related questions and history of the morbidity related to poor personal hygiene. The data was analyzed statistically.
