CASE SERIES ON FUNCTIONAL OUTCOME IN DISTAL RADIUS FRACTURE TREATED USING VOLAR-LOCKING PLATING
Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE-Distal radius fractures are most common fractures of upper limb with bimodal type of age distribution as high-energy trauma contributing in younger and low energy trauma in elderly population.the therapeutic options remain debatable and controversial. Most of the surgical techniques are based on the principles of intra-articular step-off and radial shortening corrected by surgery had improved patient outcome. Most of the principles also depend on the patient morphology as a factor.and hence we retrospectively and prospectively analysed functional and radiological results following volar-locking plating in patients with distal radius intraarticular fractures.
