Interesting case of Tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy

BALAJI PANDIAN P

Abstract

Tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy
can be defined as a condition characterized
by atrial or ventricular myocardial
dysfunction resulting solely from increased
atrial or ventricular rates. Implicit
in this definition is the fact that there is
no underlying structural heart disease.
The most common presentation is a dilated
cardiomyopathy with or without the
causative tachycardia. Here I am presenting
a case of tachycardia induced
cardiomyopathy who presented with cardiac
failue.
