WEIL'S DISEASE(fulminant leptospirosis)- an important cause of multiorgan dysfunction-A CASE REPORT

SATHEESH KUMAR

Abstract

Abstract : Leptospirosis is a globally important zoonotic   disease caused by spirochetes of the genus Leptospira.   Although leptospirosis presents with a mild icteric form in nearly 90 percent of cases, Weil's disease-fulminant        leptospirosis with multiorgan failure is a relatively rare and potentially fatal form of leptospirosis. In this case report, we present a patient with Weil's disease, complicated with      multiorgan failure and with multi-serovar infection.
