SUBACUTE SCLEROSING PANENCEPHALITIS(SSPE)- A CASE REPORT

Abstract


23 year old south Indian male presented
with myoclonus multiplex, cognitive impairment
and behavioural changes since
6 months. Patient had measles at the
age of 10 years. EEG showed periodic
burst suppression pattern and serology
revealed elevated titres of anti-measles
IgG in CSF and serum. So diagnosis of
SSPE was made.We report this extremely
rare neurodegenerative disorder
due to measles virus.
