Malakoplakia : A Rare Cause of Testicular Abcess
Abstract
Malakoplakia, is an uncommon chronic granulomatous inflammatory condition, which predominantly affects the urinary tract, followed by other organs like testis and epididymis. Malakoplakia of testis accounts for less than 12% of all the cases.(1)The lesion mainly occurs in middle aged men and they present clinically as epididymo-orchitis or testicular enlargement with a fibrous consistency, the latter can mimic a malignancy. Here we present a case of testicular malakoplakia in a 50- year old male patient .
