An Unusal Case Of Cardiomyopathy Due To Hypothyroid
Abstract
Most patients with dilated cardiomyopathy have a poor prognosis and irreversible myocardial dysfunction .Rarely, a reversible metabolic etiology that is amenable to specific therapy is identified. Thyroid dysfunction reflects the effects of hormones on calcium activated ATPase & Phospholamban and various other ion channels.Phospholamban inactivates SERCA and helps myocardium contractility. When phospholamban is affected contractility decreases.
