Sri Rathna Maheswari K S .

Abstract

Short anagen syndrome (SAS) is a recently described disease, but is rarely reported in literature because of its                       under-recognized status. It is characterized by inability to grow long hair because of an idiopathic short anagen phase. Hair shaft is normal in this condition, but there is reversal in anagen: telogen ratio. The condition is mostly benign and not associated with any systemic or skin disease. This condition tends to improve with puberty. The important differential diagnosis include loose anagen syndrome.
