A Case of Tuberculous Brain Abscess

Abstract

A 51 years old male,who had pulmonary tuberculosis 6years back and pyelonephritis 3 months back ,presenting with difficulty in using right upper and lowerlimb for past 1 week and fever ,altered sensorium for 3 days.He was evaluated and found to have right sided hemiplegia and random blood sugar 422,elevated renal parameters ,USG abdomen shows medical renal disease, CT brain shows  space occupying lesion  in the left temporoparieto occipital region and then MRI brain was taken it shows Multiple cerebral abscess  - suggestive of Tuberculous etiology  .He underwent burr-hole aspiration of the abscess and treated with  CAT II ATT .His sensorium and weakness improved and  got discharged and adviced to continue ATT.
