Paratesticular Malignant Mesothelioma: A Case Report

Fathima S and Shantaraman K .

Abstract

Paratesticular malignant mesothelioma is a rare tumor described so far. It is a highly aggressive tumour. Malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis is an extremely rare tumor without specific clinical manifestations, mainly including hydrocele formation and a painless intrascrotal mass. We report a case of 64 year old male who presented with right sided scrotal swelling for 5 months. It was clinically suspected as hydrocele. Right low orchidectomy with excision of hydrocele sac was done. A final histopathological diagnosis of paratesticular malignant mesothelioma arising from the tunica vaginalis testis was rendered and confirmed by immunohistochemistry. This case is

presented for rarity of its site.
