Carcinoma Lung Masquerading as Thrombocytopenia

Abstract


Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in the world next to prostrate cancer in men & breast cancer in women.(1) Small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) accounts for about 13% of all newly diagnosed lung cancers. We present here a rare case of a 26-year-old female whose initial presentation was thrombocytopenia which was later found to be  secondary to widespread infiltration of bone marrow by small cell carcinoma lung.
