An unusual case of renal cell carcinoma

Abstract

Among all the adult malignancies renal cell carcinoma (RCC) accounts for approximately 3% and is a lethal tumour with aggressive behaviour. It has propensity to metastatic spread to any organ. It can present initially with metastasis in about 16% of cases. But it is rare for the tumour to present with metastasis without a primary renal lesion. We report such a case of metastatic renal cell   carcinoma (mRCC) presenting as lymphadenopathy with no evidence of primary renal tumour.
