Ibuprofen- Paracetamol Combination Induced Haematuria: A Case Report
Abstract
Ibuprofen is one of the most commonly prescribed
drugs used to reduce fever and relieve pain. In India
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) are freely
available over-the-counter (OTC). OTC NSAIDs, including
ibuprofen, are routinely administered to children or taken by
teenagers for pain and fever. It is generally considered safe,
and long term studies indicate a lack of serious adverse
effects.
We report here a two-and-a-half-year-old female child
whodeveloped hematuria during treatment with ibuprofen
and paracetamol combination.
