Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis in Gastric Cancer

Praveen Kumar Shenoy V P, Venkataraman R .

Abstract

Leptomeningeal carcinomatosisin gastric cancer is very rare. It is seen in less than 1% of patients with primary gastric cancer. Its occurrence portends poor prognosis and diminished survival. This result from       paucity of effective and standardized treatment directed at cancer cells which has spread and affected the               leptomeninges. We have reviewed here 3 cases of             gastric cancer with leptomeningeal carcinomatosiswho were treated at our center. We have reviewed the               literature and discussed challenges in diagnosis and treatment of such cases.
