A Rare Association of a Congenital and an Acquired Heart Disease

Sudhakar P, Anoop George Alex, Paul V Ge .

Abstract

The association of  rheumatic valvular  mitral  stenosis (MS) with Ebstein’s anomaly of  the tricuspid  valve is  a relatively rare entity  that  has  been described  in the literature.          The development of such an acquired heart disease in a  patient with congenital cardiac anomaly may alter the    haemodynamics and natural history of  MS and vice-versa with adverse clinical outcomes.
