A Complex Disease Masquerading as a Common Symptom.
Abstract
Cardiac amyloidosis is an under diagnosed entity which is shown to have grave prognosis. Early detection allows for treatment modalities that can halt cardiac damage, improve cardiac function and reduce the risk for sudden cardiac death. We describe a patient who presented with dyspnea on exertion and had subtle findings by which cardiac amyloidosis was diagnosed who was subsequently initiated on early definitive treatment.
