Marriage and development of alcohol dependence in a couple

Abstract


Mental and behavioural disorders due to the use of alcohol have huge impact on the health of the individual and the society. The social institution of the family has as its lifeline as the wife and hope as the children. With changes in society the behaviour of its people also changes. This report is on a couple from a middle socioeconomic status who presented to us as referred by the family, seeking treatment for their alcohol dependence. There was no family history of alcohol dependence.
