Radhakrishnan N Natarajan .

Abstract

Stroke presenting as bilateral thalamic infarcts are a rare presentation. The artery of Percheron arising as a single trunk from posterior cerebral artery supplying both paramedian thalamic region can get occluded leading to bilateral paramedian thalamic infarct. Thalamic infarcts approximately accounts for 11 percent of vertibasilar infarct s. Among the thalamic infarcts paramedian territories account for 22 to 35 percent. Clinical and image findings of this uncommon form of posterior circulation infarcts is presented here with our case report.
