A CASE REPORT OF DEMENTIA PARALYTICA

Abstract


General paresis is the manifestation of parenchymatous neurosyphilis sometimes referred
as dementia paralytica (1), which accounted for around 20 percent of psychiatric illness in the
preantibiotic era.(2) Its different forms are- progressive dementia form, manic form, depressive form
and paranoid form.(3) Here we present a patient of neurosyphilis who came to our hospital with
features of dementia.
